Introduction: A species known as Australian sandalwood, it is a tree native to semi-arid areas at the edge of Southwest Australia. It is traded as sandalwood and its valuable oil has been used as an aromatic, a medicine and a food source. Sandalwood varies from a small bushy shrub to a small tree growing about 6m high.
